Post-NFL Draft Dynasty Buys You Need to Target Right Now
These are the players I’m aggressively buying after the NFL Draft before their value skyrockets heading into 2026 fantasy football season.
It’s been a few weeks since the NFL Draft, and I wanted to write about some players I’m looking to buy after seeing where rookies landed and what teams did this offseason. I’m bullish on these names heading into 2026, and I think you should be too for fantasy football. Let’s get into it.
WR - Brian Thomas Jr.
Yes, the year after his breakout rookie season was dreadful and total bust-mode. But let’s not forget the raw, undisputed talent. What he did during his rookie season was not a fluke. You don’t produce like that by accident.
What’s working in his favor heading into 2026 is Liam Coen admitting they need to forget about last season and attack 2026 even harder with BTJ as the focal point. He also missed time with injuries.
Jaguars HC Liam Coen wants to help Brian Thomas Jr. fix his issues
Liam Coen had an exchange with Ryan O’Halloran of The Florida Times-Union and said that he wants to attack the offseason with Thomas, noting that he wants to put the 2025 season behind him.
“This is a great opportunity for us to look at it with BTJ this offseason: these are the true areas where we can improve, let’s go attack it with relentless pursuit and not worry about the results and what happened last year,” Coen said via O’Halloran.
Let’s not forget that the GM has expressed wanting to play Travis Hunter more at cornerback, paving the way for more opportunity for BTJ to take off and become the WR1 once again.
Yes, they have Jakobi Meyers, who they just extended, along with Parker Washington. But I will always bet on talent, and BTJ is the best talent in that WR room. He’s an elite downfield weapon and a true alpha X receiver.
His 14.5 ADOT in 2026, which was up from his rookie season, shows this is not a talent issue. The situation will correct itself, and the offense should only improve.
Buy the dip. This is his floor.
QB - Tyler Shough
We saw what Shough did late in the season when he took over starting QB duties from Spencer Rattler, averaging 20 fantasy points and 27 rushing yards per game over his final five starts.
Now he gets another offseason to develop in a high-powered Kellen Moore offense. They just drafted more WR help for him in Jordyn Tyson and signed Travis Etienne to be his security blanket out of the backfield. And let’s not forget Alvin Kamara is still there to help guide him as a leader in this offense.
I want all the Shough shares I can get in dynasty before he breaks out and becomes untouchable.
Everything is set up perfectly for him to make the leap.
RB - TreVeyon Henderson
When everyone zigs, we zag.
There’s so much negativity around the Patriots for more reasons than I can count. But there’s also a lot of negativity surrounding who TreVeyon Henderson can be for this offense and for fantasy football in general.
With Rhamondre Stevenson there, it’s fair to be skeptical. But Stevenson is an injury-prone RB who fumbles… a lot.
When Henderson took over backfield duties after Stevenson missed time with injuries, we saw the true explosiveness Henderson displayed at Ohio State. He has Jahmyr Gibbs-like athleticism with the burst to outrun defenders and rip off long TDs at any moment.
Overall, he rushed for 911 yards and 9 TDs on the season. He’s elite, and the talent will continue to show itself in 2026. I expect him to become the focal point of the backfield while also showcasing his elite pass-blocking abilities.
Stevenson isn’t getting younger and will most likely continue putting the ball on the ground enough for Henderson to eventually take over as the lead back.
WR - Christian Watson
This is the year Watson figures it out.
There’s now a clear path to WR1 opportunity with Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks gone. Green Bay also didn’t add a major WR in the draft. The targets are there for the taking.
When healthy, Watson led the team in targets, yards, and TDs among WRs last season. His issue has always been health, not talent or opportunity.
But here’s where we should get optimistic — the Packers are in win-now mode with a lot of jobs on the line. Expect more passing and less reliance on the run game with Josh Jacobs getting older.
Increased usage is coming for Watson, and if he can stay healthy, this could finally be the breakout season everyone has been waiting for.
WR - Justin Jefferson
Jefferson bounce-back season incoming.
Probably the biggest bust at WR next to Brian Thomas Jr. last season, but that was mostly due to the revolving door at QB in Minnesota. JJ McCarthy ain’t it.
At the end of the day, Jefferson is still the best WR in football.
He gets a major QB boost now that Kyler Murray is there. But more importantly, Carson Wentz is back, and that’s where Jefferson really thrived last season. When Wentz played, Jefferson averaged 16 fantasy points per game over the five weeks Wentz started.
Honestly, I think Wentz eventually becomes the starter for the Vikings. They re-signed him for a reason. He fits Kevin O’Connell’s offense well, and Kyler is only on a cheap one-year deal, so there’s no long-term commitment there.
If Wentz gets the starting role, Jefferson is going to explode.
Final Thoughts
Don’t forget that dynasty rookie drafts are starting up right about now. This is the perfect buying window, especially if you have draft capital you’re looking to burn.
The best part? You don’t have to massively overpay for most of these players outside of Justin Jefferson. But even then, Jefferson’s value still isn’t as high as it once was after the disappointing season he had last year.
These are the moments you take advantage of in dynasty fantasy football. Buy elite talent when the market gets nervous, trust the profile, and go win your league.
